We process personal data in accordance with the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) and its Implementing Regulations, as overseen by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA).

This policy is available in Arabic and English. In the event of any conflict between the two versions, the Arabic version prevails.

3. The personal data we collect

We collect personal data only when you choose to contact us through the contact form on our website. We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect personal data for advertising or profiling.

When you submit the contact form, we collect:

  • The subject of your message (required)
  • The content of your message (required)

To keep the form secure and to prevent spam and abuse, our systems also process limited technical information, such as your IP address and the time of your request. This information is used only for security and rate limiting, and it is stored temporarily.

We do not knowingly collect any sensitive personal data through the form. Please do not include sensitive information, such as health, religious, or financial details, in your message.

4. Why we collect your data and our legal basis

We use the personal data you submit through the contact form only to read your message, understand your inquiry, and respond to you. The legal basis for this processing is your consent, which you provide when you tick the box confirming that you have read and agree to this Privacy Policy and then submit the form.

Providing your name, email address, subject, and message is necessary for us to respond. If you do not provide this information, we will not be able to receive or reply to your inquiry. Your phone number is optional and is used only if we need to reach you by phone about your message.

Separately, we process limited technical information, such as your IP address, to protect the contact form against spam and abuse. The legal basis for this is our legitimate interest in maintaining the security and proper functioning of our website.

5. How we collect your data

We collect your personal data directly from you, at the moment you complete and submit the contact form. We do not obtain your personal data from any third party, and we do not buy or rent personal data.

6. Who can access your data and who we share it with

Internally, the information you submit through the contact form is sent by email to the owners of Scientific, who are responsible for handling and responding to inquiries.

To operate the website and deliver these emails, we rely on the following service providers, who process personal data on our behalf and under our instructions:

  • Vercel, which hosts our website.
  • Resend, which delivers contact form submissions to us by email.
  • Upstash, which provides the database used to protect the form against spam and abuse.

These providers are permitted to use your data only to provide their services to us. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising or marketing purposes.

We may also disclose personal data where we are required to do so by a competent authority or under applicable Saudi law.

7. Transfer and processing of data outside the Kingdom

Some of the service providers listed above operate infrastructure located outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This means that, when you contact us, your personal data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside the Kingdom. Where this happens, we take appropriate measures so that your personal data continues to receive a level of protection consistent with the requirements of the PDPL and the regulations governing the transfer of personal data outside the Kingdom.

8. How long we keep your data

We keep the personal data in your message only for as long as necessary to handle and respond to your inquiry, and for a reasonable period afterward for our records. We retain this correspondence for up to 36 months, after which it is deleted. Technical information used for security and rate limiting is stored only for a short period and is then deleted automatically.

9. How we protect your data

We apply appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against loss, unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. Data submitted through the form is transmitted over an encrypted connection, access to inquiries is limited to the owners of Scientific, and we use reputable service providers to operate the website and deliver messages.

10. Your rights

Under the PDPL, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • The right to be informed about how and why we process your personal data.
  • The right to access the personal data we hold about you.
  • The right to obtain a copy of your personal data.
  • The right to request that we correct or complete inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • The right to request that we destroy your personal data when it is no longer needed.
  • The right to withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of any processing carried out before the withdrawal.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details below. We will respond to your request within 30 days. If we need more time, we will let you know and explain why. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) if you believe we have not handled your personal data properly.

11. Children's privacy

Our website and contact form are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect the personal data of children. If you believe that a child has submitted personal data to us, please contact us so that we can delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we make significant changes, we will take reasonable steps to make this clear.
